Creative Journal Entries March 23rd

3+3 Collage:

For this activity, we took 3 neutral pieces of paper, 3 pieces of paper from the same colour family, and had 1 clear focal point! We used old magazines to find our papers! This was such a fun activity!

Bilateral Drawing:

For this journal entry, we did bilateral drawing! This was something I had never heard of before, but by the name, I was intrigued! Essentially what it is, is using 2 markers, at the same time (1 in each hand) you draw the same thing with each hand, using a different colours. Some benefits of doing this may include: warming up your brain/ activating the whole brain, quieting the mind, and can be used as a form of therapy, or meditation, according to Lisa’s Art and Makerspace’s YouTube video, linked here.

Just Three Lines:

For this entry, we drew 3 lines; 1 as the horizon, 1 circle for the sun, and 1 wobby line for the mountain to create an image!

Face Jam:

This creative entry was so cool. I am not a confident drawer at all, but this activity gave me a little more confidence hehe!

We began by drawing the heads, then the shoulders and neck, the hair, the ears, the eyes, nose, mouth and finally the eyebrows.

I found this to be really fun, I didn’t take it too seriously, and I love that each of these characters have their own personality, and none of them look even closely the same. This was so fun!

I think this would be great for students who think they cannot draw! This shows them that they are creative and can draw faces, and people!

Here is my creation: I added a coloured background just to make it pop a little more
