Free Inquiry Post #2- Routine Your Life
September 25th, 2025
Hi blog! Welcome back. In this second post about my free inquiry project, I am going to talk about why routine is important.
This YouTube video I found did a really good job of explaining why having a routine is important, especially with the developing technology we have.
It can be so easy to simply rely on technology to do everything for us which leaves us feeling unproductive, which can lead to poor mental health as well.
Having a routine can boost your productivity, if you know you have things you want to get done, whether it be written in a journal, on a sticky note or even just written mentally in your brain, it will give you more motivation to do it, then once it is done, you feel accomplished.

Why Routine Is Good
Having a routine also helps you to build stability and structure, if you are getting the things you need to get done, done, then you have more time to do the things you enjoy doing, like hanging out with friends and family or even catching up on sleep.
This also includes routine in the classroom, if the students know what to expect when they arrive, it can reduce anxiety and make them feel much more comfortable. This can be for all ages, not solely primary
I reflected a lot this week on what my routine consists of. I found that waking up at the same time every day, doing my early journalling, then making my coffee was in my every single day routine, no matter the day of the week, and I love it.
My Approach To A New Routine
Over the weekend I attempted a different approach to my morning, I tried just waking up and going straight to work, I slept in a little later, didn’t have time for coffee until I got to work, and I didn’t journal in the morning. Honestly, I felt a lot crankier during the day, despite getting more sleep I felt like I hadn’t slept in days. I was so tired and felt very lazy, I never ended up journalling that day, which is very unlike myself. I quickly realized how much I depend on my routine, and how much I enjoy it.
Overall, I think having a good routine makes for such an easier day, every day. In my next inquiry post I will discuss why too much of a routine might be a negative thing.
Thanks for reading blog! See you next time <3
